What is Special Education?

Special Education is specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of eligible students. Special Education provides related services necessary to access and make progress within the general curriculum.

When is a student eligible for Special Education?

A student is eligible if all four of the following are true: the student has one or more disabilities; the student is making not making effective progress in school; the lack of effective progress is caused by the disability; and, the student requires special education in order to make effective progress.
