Student Conduct on Buses
Riding the school bus is a privilege. This privilege may be temporarily denied or permanently
revoked if misconduct of a student jeopardizes the safe operation of the school bus or the safety of the
students riding the bus
.

Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)
The Salem schools were inspected for friable and non-friable asbestos containing materials during
the fall of 1988 in response to the EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).

Protection of Pupil Rights
PPRA affords parents and students who are 18 or emancipated minors (“eligible students”) certain rights
regarding our conduct of surveys, collection and use of information for marketing purposes, and certain
physical exams.


Statute of Limitations of Special Education Cases
The state and federal special education laws (New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated
Chapter 186-C and Title 20, United States Code, Sections 1400-1415) require that the school
district offer a "free appropriate public education" to all educationally disabled children.
