To qualify, a student must have and maintain a career GPA set by the school administration.
Driving to school is considered a privilege for qualifying students
Abuse of this opportunity may result in the loss of parking privileges for the school year.
Tardiness
- Third unexcused tardy in a semester: Loss of parking privileges for 5 school days.

Fourth unexcused tardy in a semester: Loss of parking privileges for 10 school days.

After fourth unexcused tardy in a semester: Parking privileges may be revoked for the 30 school days. Students with excessive tardies will lose parking privileges. Parking sanctions may be rendered for more than two excused tardies in a 5-week period without medical documentation.
Absence

Third unexcused absence in a school year: Loss of parking privileges for 10 school days.

Fourth unexcused absence in a school year: Loss of parking privileges for 30 school days.

After fourth unexcused absence: Parking privileges revoked for the remainder of the year.

Excessive absenteeism will result in loss of parking privileges. In a 5-week period, a student will be sanctioned for having more than 4 excused absences without medical documentation.
Suspension

First school suspension in a school year: May result in the loss of parking privileges for 30 school days, to begin subsequent to the school suspension.

Second school suspension in a school year: Parking privileges will be revoked for the remainder of the year.

School suspensions for the most serious of offenses, such as, but not limited to, possession of drugs or alcohol, assault, or possession of a weapon: Parking privileges will be revoked for the remainder of the year.

Students caught leaving the school, grounds, or jobsite without permission, first offense: Loss of parking privileges for 10 school days.

Students caught leaving the school grounds or jobsite without permission, second offense: Parking privileges revoked for the remainder of the year.

First time students allow others the use of their parking permit or go to their cars during the school day: Loss of parking privileges for 10 school days.

Second time students allow others the use of their parking permit or go to their cars during the school day: Loss of parking privileges for 30 school days.

Cars parked illegally will be towed after one (1) warning and students will receive disciplinary action.

Students observed driving recklessly will have their permit revoked.
In all cases, the dean will make the final decision regarding parking permits. Students must register any vehicle they drive to school with SHS administration. The registration fee, license, proof of vehicle registration, and proof of insurance will be required. Upon registration students will receive a rear view mirror parking tag that must be displayed at all times. Automobiles not displaying the appropriate tag will not be allowed to park on school property.
Violators will be disciplined. Cost of a parking permit to be determined. Lost permits may be replaced one time only at the cost of $15.00. One-day permits will be available for special circumstances and must be requested prior to the date needed. A copy of the student’s license, automobile registration and proof of insurance must accompany requests for one-day permits. To register an automobile, report to the Mrs. Karibian after school in the Parking Office (room 201).
