Memorial Day is an annual federal holiday in the United States.  Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the fallen Union solders of the Civil War.  Today it is the day that we honor all fallen heroes who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.  Every day is a good day, though, to thank a veteran for their service!
